No More Ho Ho Ho For Santa This Christmas!

Posted by User ImageSire on Nov-11-2007 under News

What a bloody joke, those politically correct turkeys have finally got to Santa. Westaff, an Australian recruitment firm who is currently looking for Santas, have warned their Santa hopefuls against using the Ho, Ho, Ho that Santa is so famous for and should instead use Ha, Ha, Ha. The reason being that they are afraid some women may find the Ho, Ho, Ho as offensive, because the term “ho” could be seen as derogatory to women.

Now for the life of me I can’t see how anyone would confuse Santa’s Ho with the derogatory one. I doubt that even the Americans, where the term “ho” originated would give such stupid instructions to their Santas!

It is reported that two Santa hopefuls actually left the course after being told they had to lose the Ho for a Ha.

All I can say is that if I hear one Santa say Ha, Ha, Ha, I am going to instruct my kid to kick him in the nuts and tell him to laugh that one off. Come on Aussies are you with me on this one? And for all the Americans reading this, don’t you think its just so stupid?

It seems that news of this PC stupidity is spreading over the globe. I have had hits from America to India and I reckon everybody has the same wish for Christmas, and that is that they should give Santa hi Ho Ho Ho back.

Now that’s just plain ignorant. Of course, I think a lot of this politically correct crap is for the birds. But this is just stupid.

Next they’re going to say that Rudolph can’t have a red nose because people might think he’s drunk.

I love relishing in the utter absurdity of our fine easily strong-armed government and businesses.

Just to add my opinion, I’ll say what many people have probably already said - but the people who entertain this notion of Santa’s ‘derogatory’ term “…ho, ho ho” are probably middle-aged soccer mothers who are so concerned about their decaying youth that they choose to flatter themselves by thinking that Santa is calling them a Ho.

Better yet - now I believe that Santa is a great icon for kids - but doesn’t anyone find it strange that these women are more concerned about an obviously fictional character saying the word ‘Ho’ which, must indirectly offend them. But aren’t worried about letting their young children go sit on this massive creepy guys lap, and tells them ‘if you’re good, I’ll give you lots of presents’. Sure, that doesn’t sound like pedophilia, let’s just get rid of Santa all together!

The thing is, the term ‘ho, ho, ho!’ has been an icon for young aspiring children for centuries, and it is only our warped society that has decided to turn ‘ho’ into a promiscuous woman. It’s what we call homophones, they sound the same - mean different.

I would like to spit in the face of the woman who must’ve been so outraged when she first heard ‘ho, ho, ho’. Come to think of it, since she’s been living in a Western Society for so long to know what an alternate meaning of ‘ho’ is - what sparked this course of action? Some trauma in her personal life no doubt.

This case is almost as bad as the ‘bah, bah, rainbow sheep’ fiasco. I love how that flopped due to the owners complaining about how changing it was in violation of copyright. Take that do-gooders!

Maaate, you’ve said a mouthful, :D and just to make a point, Ho is American, I doubt very much that any Aussie women would be offended. I on the other hand am deeply offended that an Aussie was stupid enough to even conceive this stupid idea.

Yeah same goes for the one who found Bah Bah Black sheep offensive. Thanks for your in depth comment. ^:)^

Well,
From an American woman’s opinion, What a Crock !

I can’t believe that my child will be allowed to sing actual Christmas Carol’s such as “Hark The Harold, Angel’s Sing” in their “Winter Program” this year, but now Santa can’t say “Ho,Ho,Ho”

This PC stuff has gone entirely too far.
The News channel Anchor woman this morning said she had no comment, except “Can’t anyone, anywhere in America, say antything anymore?”
That about sums it up.

Here in Oregon, we have a 2 year old boy who has been with the same Foster family since he was 4 months old. He has dual citizenship, American/mexican, and now the State Department of Human Services, wants to “deport” him, send him to Mexico and live with a Grandmother he has never met, and then the State of Oregon will pay her $327 monthly to provide for his care & well-being…

Ho, Ho Ho,
I hope you Aussie’s can get this revoked and give Santa back his Jolly Jingle.

I love the current issues groups use to demonstrate how the world should be overrun by those that practice anything but the Gospel of Political Correctness. Jolly Old St. Nick can no longer say, “Ho, ho, ho” so as to prevent offending some women? Gee I always thought if something wasn’t the truth, why worry about it? While I’m not fond of the whole Santa Claus idea and think it’s a bit overdone anyways, come on…have we forgotten his purpose? To make children smile? If you are offending by Santa saying, “Ho, ho, ho” because you think he’s talking about you, hmm, perhaps you need to stop taking everything so personally. The world is filled with more than 6 billion people and you think a guy making next to nothing to have children scream, cry, spit at, urinate and throw up on is really talking about your sexual promiscuity…that’s a bit ego centric. Now if he’s your ex…well perhaps he’s just calling them like he sees them. And remember, he’s checked his list twice and certainly would know if you’ve been naughty or nice…get a grip!

Denise, a couple of Santas have actually quit over the issue. Some shopping centres are telling their Santa to ignoret and to continue with the Ho’s and with a bit of luck it will all blow over. I’m glad your child can sing Christmas carols :clap_tb:

Shannan, I reckon Santa will cross them off after only checking the list once. I’m glad for your comment.

This is dumb, dumb, dumb! Santa’s not a playa, let him say what he wants. I agree with instructing your kid to kick him square in the nuts for using “ha ha ha”

Ach! This is crazy stuff. In the USA we have “freedom of speech.” Let the courts decide. The lawyers need to keep busy, you know.

Hi: Check out this video. It is older than this current news story (saw it last year at Christmas time), but it has a cute angle on the story. It’s called Blue Collar Christmas, and features a politically correct retelling of “The Night Before Christmas”.

What a bunch of BS! Santa has been saying ho ho ho since before we were all born. Now because of political correctness we have to change. Santa needs to keep his saying. We have lots of words that have duel or even more meanings. You have to take into account the words context. Lets take for example alot of christmas songs have gay in them. This mean “happy” in the sense but if you feel childish or ignorent it could mean a sexual orentation. I have had it with polictial correctness.
Go santa HO HO HO!!! :)

Santa has said HO HO HO since Forever! It is a tradition! Anyone that would be offended by SANTA saying that is way to SENSITIVE… He’s not a bum on the side of the street sexually harrassing you!! Thats all I have to say about that
