Getting One Way Links To My Newest Blog

Posted by User ImageSire on Sep-12-2008 under SEO Tactics

It seems that there is no way in hell that Google is going to give me my PR back for this particular blog, and all because I wanted to make an honest living by doing paid posts. That doesn’t mean I am just going to forget about BlogSire, nope I ain’t just giving up on this blog, no way. What I am going to do though is try something to give my WassupBlog a whole lot of one way links.

The way I’m going to do this is by utilising Reciprocal Links Pro, my linking program, so that all the links point to WassupBlog. I reckon because the linking program is hosted on blogsire.com then all links from linking partners that point to WassupBlog will be one way links. Can anyone see a problem with this reasoning?

If the answer to that question is yes, then you may be interested in this reciprocating comments movement that I am trying to get going. I reckon that if you post comments on a 100 blogs a day, you will be lucky to get 10% of those returning the favor and it seems like such a waste of effort for so little return. Wouldn’t it be a whole lot better if you could increase this margin so that you wouldn’t need to put in such thereby giving you more time to increase the quality of your posts and your comments?

Free Program For Getting Quality Backlinks

Posted by User ImageSire on Jul-7-2008 under SEO Tactics

I did a post on my What A Load Of Bullshit blog about a free program that I came across that will allow you to get quality backlinks to your blog. Apart from increasing traffic it should also hopefully facilitate a higher PR ranking. It works by separating the blogs that do use the ‘no-follow’ from the ones that do not. It also allows you to target keywords PR rankings and different blogging platforms including Squidoo. I can see it saving the serious blogger a whole heap of time.

I am Officially A Twitter Fan

Posted by User ImageSire on May-20-2008 under SEO Tactics

I have known about Twitter for a long while and never thought I would join it because my first perception was that it was pure unadulterated crap. That just goes to show that you should not always go by your first perception. Recently I became a member because a good mate of mine was a twittering fool and seeing how in reality he is one heck of a smart guy I decided to give it a go.

After a bit of research I found that once you get the hang of things twitter can be a real marketing tool. rather than rehash everything I think it best I point you to Tweeting For Companies 101. I highly recommend you check this out, and then when you also join the twitter group you may want to enter this Twitter Writing Contest and win yourself a Ipod Nano.

The reason for this post came about because two of my twitter buddies, icjackson and Mitchman3

One more thing, when you do join, please take the time to be my Twitter Buddy, by clicking on the ‘follow’ tag below my name.

Entrecard is a great way for bloggers to network with other bloggers and offers a way to advertise their blogs at the same time. It is your virtual business card that you get to design yourself. At the moment I am testing it on my What A Load Of Bullshit blog and I can safely say that it is providing the majority of my visitors. A Fantastic Permalinks Plugin For WordPress

Posted by User ImageSire on Nov-20-2007 under SEO Tactics

When I first started this blog I used the default permalink structure which gave me the following type of link http://www.blogsire.com/SBizzTech/?p=123 which is all well and good but it does not help in attaining a high PR and is also a veritable pain in the arse when trying to work out which post the link is pointing to. I thought about changing the permalink structure within wordpress hoping that it would only take effect from any new posts. Unfortunately it meant that all pages indexed by search engines would become invalid and I would also lose all those links that were already linking to me.

I thought my only solution would be a plugin and after a long search I found Permalinks Migration Plugin For Wordpress which turned out to be perfect. What the plugin does is it allows you to change your permalink and activates what is called a “301 Redirect”, which tells the search engines that your pages have moved and redirects them to your new page so that there is no loss of traffic and a greater potential for a higher pagerank.

Installation is simple but configuration was a bit of a pain simply because I used the default Wordpress setting and there was no instructions as to what code to insert when using the default setting.

Once you have downloaded the file, you upload it to your plugin directory then;

  1. Goto admin panel->options->PermalinksMigration.set the old permanlink structure of your site. If you use the default setting enter this code as I did enter  /%post_id%/
  2. Goto admin panel->options->Permalinks.change the new permalink structure to what you want. (I use /%category%/%postname%/)
  3. That’s about it. I hope it works for you.

Now all I have to do is sit back and enjoy the new permalink structure.

Since Google was kind enough to knock my PR for a six the other day I was wondering if this would have any effect on the way my blogs appear in the Google search engine. So, over the last few days I have been checking how my blogs have been fairing in relation to the search engine terms that people have been using.

I was very pleased to find out that the majority of them have been on the fist page with quite a few in the top five of the first page. I would assume from this that while PR is important for getting certain paid to blog tasks etc, it’s not all that important in regards to traffic that is sent to my blogs. What is important is the the blog headings and the tags used. Combine these with the right keywords and the traffic still flows.

This is a list of the last 10 search terms and the position on Google. As you can see, except for one they are all on the front page.

Posted by User ImageSire on Oct-23-2007 under SEO Tactics

How many of you have received a joke in an email and thought it was so funny you simply had to send it to all your friends? I would say that most of you guys would have your hand up by now. Well what’s the bet that if they liked it they would then forward it on to all their friends and so on and so on. Now imagine that at the bottom of the joke you had written,

“Brought to you by http://www.blogsire.com/myblog/”.

Get the idea. Its a great form of viral marketing. Oh, naturally you would substitute my link for your own.

Build Static Pages With Seo Software

Posted by User ImageSire on Oct-8-2007 under Advertising, SEO Tactics

You would thing that seeing as how the great Google states in its Webmaster Guidelines that if you really want to “make your site easily accessible…Consider creating static copies of dynamic pages” then more people would be creating static pages wouldn’t you? It also goes on to further state “that not every search engine spider crawls dynamic pages as well as static pages.”

So what is the difference between the two? Simply put a static page is one that does not change with each view, so it doesn’t matter what person views the page it is always the same. This is true for most HTML pages. A dynamic page on the other hand can customize the response on the server to offer personalization based on cookies and information that it obtains from the visitor, so that it may well be different depending who is viewing it. These pages are not well liked by search engines.

So why do many webmasters decide not to make use of static pages? Could it possible be the time factor? Maybe if there was some software that could help? Something like SEO Software that will allow you to build Thousands of Static Pages and one that comes to mind is StaticPageBuilder.com. The beauty about it is that not only will it allow you to get Great SERPs but they are offering a 1 month free trial that includes 10k pages.

Build Static Pages at StaticPageBuilder

This software is able to create large sets of html pages designed to target and receive a large volume of relevant organic search traffic. It is comprised of code that elite SEOs have used for over 6 years. It allows users to import their data, process their data by abstracting relationships and creating alphabetical trails (AlphaPoint™), input their templates, input their keywords and keyword content (UniKey™ content is comprised of pieces of sentences with replaceable words that are randomly combined to create unique copy), and then create their static page sets. It is most suited to ecommerce sites, lead gen sites, and article/content sites. With the proper use of the software it will generate pages that are treated well, get crawled quickly and rank highly.

Posted by User ImageSire on Oct-8-2007 under SEO Tactics

Even though I have already mentioned this in a previous post I wanted to stress how important it is for serious bloggers to use every means possible to get their blogs noticed by search engines. Fortunately Wordpress allows you to install plugins that can help you achieve this with relative ease. I have written a more detailed post on the importance of this plugin and you can read all about it on my Well Blog Me blog.
