Blogging The Money Way

Archive for the ‘News’ Category

This latest news report blew me away. Apparently members of an Arizona State University fraternity vomited milk from a campus bridge onto cars below. It seems one guy, in an effort not to get any puke on his car, slammed on his brakes causing a crash that injured two people.

It sort of makes you wonder why we sent these people to university doesn’t it?

There used to be a time when I used to be absolutely wild about amusement parks and not just for the rides, but for the atmosphere and the excuse to spend time with all my mates. It used to be some of the best times that I can remember. Now that I am pushing fifty I reckon I’ve outgrown those rides, but the atmosphere is still there and I get to see my kids having a ball instead.

They reckon that the Wildwood attractions at New Jersey, known as Morey’s Piers, is the best amusement park in the whole of New Jersey. Now that I am a family man I love the idea that they offer weekly specials as I find that when you’re have a vacation and you can save money here and there it means that you have more cash to spend elsewhere to make the holiday more enjoyable. If nothing else it allows you the opportunity to get those extra souvenirs to help remind you what a great time you had.

All the information that you could possibly want can be found on Morey’s Piers Website, and when you want a break from all that ‘atmosphere’ and you just want to relax and wind down a little, don’t you think it’s great that your near the beach. Now, if you ask me, that is what a family beach vacation is all about. :clap_tb:

Update On The Massive Bigfoot Discovery

Posted by User ImageSire on Aug-19-2008 under News

Remember my last post on the discovery of Bigfoot’s Corpse? Well the two Georgia men have just held a news conference to announce they have found the hairy corpse of a Bigfoot but unfortunately for them they were so unprepared that not only couldn’t they convince the reporters, they couldn’t even convince the Bigfoot believers.

Makes you wonder what the hell they were thinking doesn’t it.

Posted by User ImageSire on Aug-9-2008 under News

Well, the moment so many people have been waiting for is finally here. The 29th Olympic Games that has been shrouded by so many Beijing launches Games in blaze of fireworks has finally burst into life on Friday with a spectacular start to the opening ceremony. This video shows images of the first fireworks display over the Bird’s Nest stadium and it really is quite spectacular.

I reckon that the world will indeed be watching these Olympics with great interest to see how it all pans out, especially when you consider the amount of pollution that has been known to invade Beijing.

When the earthquake, that had a magnitude of 5.4 hit Southern California, it isn’t at all surprising to find out that several cameras were rolling at the time. These cameras were able to capture the moment as the quake hit while certain shows were being taped, amongst them Judge Judy and Big Brother. It was such a shock to some that expletives were used that had to be ‘bleeped’ out.

80 Injured Due To Columbian Bullfight

Posted by User ImageSire on Jul-24-2008 under News

In case you have not seen the collapse of the improvised bullfighting ring in the town of Planadas in Colombia’s Tolima province I have posted it here for you. This quite amazing turn of events caused the injury of dozens of people and it was quite amazing watching it collapse as it is almost like a Mexican Wave.

Looking at the video it’s not hard to see that it was way overcrowded and I am sure that investigations are proceeding to see who exactly is to blame. I’m sure that they are going to try and pin it on someone.

Its absolutely amazing that while all this time I thought the Japanese were were in love with Geisha I was wrong again as they are more into dogs and cats. Keeping this in mind Honda is making cars with detachable, easy-to-clean seats in order to lure the ever increasing pet owners. They reckon that the Japanes now have more cats and dogs than kids under 15. I suppose it’s because they are cheaper to keep and with the right treats are actually willing to learn and do tricks.

I came across an interesting news clip by Associated Press called “Blogging For Dollars” that mentions Associated Content and Helium as two companies using bloggers and other writing hopefuls who are happy to serve as ultra-low-cost freelancers. I must admit that while I do take tasks that pay as low as $5 I think that it is fair compensation considering that all that is required is a post with a minimum word count of 60 words.

I have rejected heaps of tasks where advertisers are only offering $5 for 300 words which I think is pretty dismal. Still I suppose that there are many out there who are in a situation that they will take any amount offered which unfortunately leads to lower prices.

Getting Buried In A Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Can

Posted by User ImageSire on May-23-2008 under News

I have heard of people booking their funerals in advance, and even buying their burial plots so that they don’t have to stress out their family when the unavoidable happens. Many may even pick their casket in advance, but this is the first time that I have come across a bloke who has custom made his casket to look like his beloved Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer!

A school in Sydney copped a bit of crap from five teens aged between 14 and 16 years. Weilding baseball bats and a machete they went on a rampage at Merrylands High School at around 8.50am. this is one particular news report on the event.

One teacher who tried to stop them was taken to hospital and up to 18 students were injured. Some are saying that the attack was revenge motivated. The 5 teens involved gave themselves up as soon as police arrived. They have been charged with more than 101 offences including assault, malicious damage and affray. they have all been refused bail and will face Parramatta Children’s Court today.
