Blogging The Money Way

A Blogging Analogy

Posted by User ImageSire on Aug-13-2007 under Blogging Tips

Think of your blog being like a home and you were expecting guests. You wouldn’t want guests coming to a messy home now would you? That would give them a poor impression of their host wouldn’t it? Well a blog that is not well maintained is the same as a poorly maintained home.

Blog maintenance is really quite simple. It means you should take the time not only to run a spell check but to actually proofread each post as well. You will be surprised how many grammatical errors you will find. Hell you might even notice that the post can be improved somewhat by restructuring a sentence or something.

Now imagine that your guest is sitting with you in the kitchen over a cup of coffee and is cheerily chatting away. You on the other hand are off in the clouds somewhere and not contributing to the conversation at all. Well I bet you that guest isn’t going to be paying you a visit in the future. The same goes for the person who took the time to write a comment in one of your posts. Make sure you respond and who knows what sort of dialogue may eventuate.

Good analogy. I even do regular cleaning, like dumping the links in my blogroll that haven’t been updated in a while. Very diligent. ;;)

Excellent advice. I proof read my posts but I do not always acknowlege comments. From now on I will.
Thanks again. Neil
