Up To $50,000 Just To Park Your Car

Posted by User ImageSire on Dec-2-2007 under News

This was in today’s newspaper, that a woman was selling a concrete slab in a Nth Terrace (Adelaide South Australia) car-park for $35,000! I kid you not, and on top of that you need to pay a management fee of over $700 a year as well as council and water rates. What the hell would you have to pay water rates for?

Apparently some people have paid up to $50,000 for a piece of bloody concrete that’s only 5m x 2m in size! When you take into consideration that early bird parking can cost you ten bucks a day, if you park your car everyday of the year that would cost you $3,560 per year. if you don’t include the added fees, it would take you ten years to recoup your cost. Most people don’t need to go to the city every single day so it will take considerably longer.

As far as I am concerned I reckon I can but up with the small headaches of finding a park and I can put that money to a lot better use.
