Getting A Headache Looking For A Holiday?

Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-30-2007 under Special Ops

~~~
Damn if I haven’t earned a bloody good holiday this year. My only problem is I haven’t got the time to do the legwork to search for some cool place where I could go and have a good time. I thought I would give the Internet a try but the amount of hits I got when I used holidays to Greece, was mind blowing. It all looks so hard.Then a mate of mine at work told me that if I really wanted to find some great package holidays to Greece then there was only one choice and that was to go to holidayhypermarket, an internet site that offered cheap Package Holidays and inexpensive Flights to destinations all over the world. He reckons I would find everything from popular Mediterranean holidays in Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Greece. Then he reckons if I really wanted to save a buck that I could try the bargain holidays and last minute deals in such far-flung destinations as the Caribbean, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. Now that’s what I am talking about!
Hanna The Artistic Poet
Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-29-2007 under Blog Reviews
I was fortunate enough to come across a blog belonging to a young and beautiful Italian woman. Her name is Hanna and her blog is called Amori, poesi, arte, chat virtualli by Hanna. It is truly unfortunate that I am unable to read Italian as well as I can speak it, which isn’t all that crash hot. I did not use the English translation button that Hanna has on her blog as I know that the English translation would only butcher the actual Italian poetry.
I can however give my opinion of her art, and although a lot of it is to do with the naked human form, which one has to admit is beautiful in itself, she has a very unique and inspiring style. Hanna I love your work and I am glad that I was lucky enough to find your blog.
Ciao signoressa Hanna
You Too Can Make Your Photos Works Of Art
Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-29-2007 under Special Ops
~~~

I was walking through the mall the other day when I noticed a photographer’s display window which had a whole heap of his work on display. What caught my attention though was the fact that these were not your normal everyday photos as they looked more like art work. Some of them actually looked like they were painted on canvas. I thought to myself, shit that would be great if you could get it online.
Well blow me down if a couple of days later I didn’t come across this great photo art. It does everything I could ever have imagined and the way it works is really simple. Once you’ve registered you upload your digital photo, you can then crop it and review the art forms and choose the design you like. All changes can be previewed on the website and once you have got it the way you like you can order it and the final work will be produced on professionally stretched canvas. What a great gift that would make!

What? Another Blogging Tip?

Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-29-2007 under Blogging Tips, Opinion

OK, this one is simply my opinion. When writing a post I think it is important not to waffle and write a while lot of BS just to pad your post to make it longer. Remember that we all live in a busy world and there are times when a person may skip a post just because it was too long and they didn’t want to take the time to read it. So as far as I am concerned less is best.

Another thing to consider is the language you use. There is no point in trying to amaze the reader with your knowledge of big words, use the old keep it simple trick. For those of you whose blogs include topics such as technology, law etc., I recommend that you write your posts in a fashion that everybody can understand it and not just techies and lawyers. Using layman terms is always better and bound to get a larger readership.

American Express Business Gold Rewards Credit Card is currently running a limited promotion for 25,000 Rewards points after first purchase. The 25,000 points can be exchanged for a free round-trip airline ticket anywhere in the U.S or $250 rewards gift certificate. You can choose the $250 gift certificate from stores such as Home Depot, Gap, Blockbuster, Barnes & Noble, Banana Republic, and so on.Whether you have a home-based business or that you have sold something on Ebay, you can apply for a business credit card. You can put your name as the business name and your social security number as the tax id. Your business is called sole proprietorship and it’s perfectly legal with the IRS.

There will be a hard pull, but business credit cards will not show on your personal credit report. Hence you can open and close accounts, open more new accounts, and max your credit limit without worrying about your credit report. The $250 bonus is worth a hard pull in my opinion.

Business Gold Rewards Card from OPEN(SM) the small business team
The $125 annual fee is waived for the first year. If you don’t find the card worth keeping, keep in mind that you can always cancel the credit card without paying any fees.

Here’s the fine print from American Express:

Apply for the Business Gold Rewards Card and make a purchase by 12/31/07. Upon the Basic Cardmember’s first purchase, a one time bonus of 25,000 points can be earned toward the Basic Business Gold Rewards Cardmember’s Membership Rewards® account and may appear as separate credits of 5,000 and 20,000 bonus points. The maximum 25,000 bonus points are available to first–time Basic Business Gold Rewards Cardmembers only; they are not available if you transfer an existing account. Welcome bonus points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account 6 to 8 weeks after your first purchase appears on your monthly billing statement. The bonus 25,000 Membership Rewards points may be redeemed for one domestic round–trip airline ticket.

The 25000 points bonus is a limited time offer. Just like the $250 Chase bonus, take advantage of this offer and apply right away.

The Golfer Who Gets Hit By A Ball

Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-29-2007 under Funny Blogs

Every now and again you come across a good joke where the punch line absolutely floors you and this next one is one of those.

It started when a woman who was playing golf with a friend tees off and she slices the ball. She watches in horror as she notices the ball heading towards a group of male golfers and hits one of them. He immediately clasps his hands together at his crotch and falls down into a foetal position. The woman rushes over profusely apologising and tells the man that she is a physical therapist and offers to help ease his pain.

Still in the foetal position and clutching his crotch he tells her that he will be OK in a few minutes. Again she offers to help and he relents and allows her to help him. She takes his hands away from his crotch and lays them by his side. She then loosens his pants, puts her hands inside and begins to gently massage him.

“Does That feel Better she asks?”

“Oh yeah, that really feels great, but my thumb is still killing me!”

Editing Ones Blog

Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-28-2007 under Blogging Tips

If there is one thing that pisses a lot of people off when reading other peoples blogs it would have to be poor grammar, punctuation and failure to use paragraphs. It is really unfortunate that most spell checkers do not pick up these other errors. Fore example even though their are heaps on spelling errors on this sentence it is absolutely stuffed and yet it would pass any spell check.

These mistakes usually occur because we are in such a rush to get the post done we don’t double check it to make sure it is of a high standard. I’ve forgotten the amount of times I’ve picked up errors in my posts days after they were actually posted. If you were to give me a dollar for every error I’ve made I would be one happy blogger. :clap:

Anyway, do yourself a favor by double checking before you commit your post to the blogosphere.

Simon’s Money Notes, A Mirror On The Web

Posted by User ImageSire on Jun-28-2007 under Blog Reviews

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, I mean the web is a big place so why should I be shocked the I come across another blog who has to same ideas about blogging that I do. Simon’s Money Notes could well have bee written by yours truly. The blog is well structured, concise and it’s intention is to make money. He comes from SA and so do I, it’s just that his stands for South Africa where Mine is South Australia.

All the same he is an individual and there are differences, like the facility to translate his blog into several languages, the poll and the fact that he’s asking less for reviews. Nothing wrong with a little competition now is there? I think I will have to keep an eye on this guy.
