A Bit Of Humor Keeps The Doctor Away.

Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-31-2007 under Funny Blogs

It’s that time again. We have all been working hard at trying to understand how to blog for money asd so wee need a little bit of humor to relax our strained minds. Todays effort invovles a psychiatrist and his patient.

A man walked into a therapist’s office looking very depressed. “Doc, you’ve got to help me. I can’t go on like this.”

“What’s the problem?” the docotor inquired.

“Well, I’m 35 years old and I still have no luck with the ladies. No matter how hard I try, I just seem to scare them away.”

“My friend, this is not a serious problem. You just need to work on your self-esteem. Each morning, I want you to get up and run to the bathroom mirror. Tell yourself that you are a good person, a fun person, and an attractive person. But say it with real conviction. Within a week you’ll have women buzzing all around you.”

The man seemed content with this advice and walked out of the office a bit excited. Three weeks later he returned with the same downtrodden expression on his face.

“Did my advice not work?” asked the doctor.

“It worked alright. For the past several weeks I’ve enjoyed some of the best moments in my life with the most fabulous looking women.”

“So, what’s your problem?”

“I don’t have a problem,” the man replied. “My wife does.”

Blogs And Affiliates!

Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-31-2007 under Affiliates

Another good way of earning money on your blogs is by by becoming an affiliate of reputable comapanies. It is important that you do not offer any links to shonky affiliates as this then reflects on your own professionalism, and that is the last thing that you would want to happen.

Of course, you do not want to make every post about an affiliate as this will eventually alienate your readers. You should still want to post good quality content with a post of an affiliate thrown in every now and again. I suggest you have an affiliate category so that those interested can browse all your affiliates in one area.

You may have noticed that I have been promoting LunarPages in several of my posts. I do this not only because I am so happy with the quality of their product and services, but because as an affilite I get paid well for anyone who wisely hosts their site through them.

Condos In Boston Defy Trend

Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-24-2007 under Special Ops

~~~
For those of you who don’t know, a condominium (condo for short) is the legal term used in the USA for a type of joint ownership of property in which portions of the property are commonly owned and other portions are individually owned. Its what Aussies refer to as strata titled.
Now it seems that while real estate in Boston has declined somewhat the condo market has defied the general trend and has been able to hold its own. So it seems that now is the best time for investors to be thinking of Boston Condos. Even if you are not hinking of investing and are more interested in somewhere nice to live then why pass up the opportunity to live in some of the cities newest and most magnificent buildings; including the Intercontinental, the Regatta Riverview Residences, 360 Newbury, The Penmark, Batter Wharf, 210 South Street, The Mandarin Oriental, and The Grandview, to name a few.
Fortunately CondoCompany.com allows various types of people such as Realtors, Owners, and Developers to list condos for sale in Boston. This allows potential buyers searching for Boston condos to find the contact information of the listing agent or owner of each condo, bypassing any middlemen and saving heaps of money. CondoCompany.com also recently launched a program called “Building Specialists”. A building specialist is a real estate agent who specializes in a particular condo building. Generally this is used for luxury high rise condos. Agents must meet certain requirements to be a Boston building specialist.
So it appears that if you are looking for condos in Boston, then CondoCompany.com is definately your best bet!
Blogging - The Importance Of Comments!
Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-24-2007 under Blogging Tips
~~~
When blogging, imagine that you are a performer and you are trying to captivate the audience. Normally performers strive for applause or some other sort of positive feedback. As a blogger your applause or feedback is the comments you get. Unfortunately getting a comment on your privately hosted blog is a lot harder than getting one on a community site.This is because people on a sites such as BlogFeast know how important it is to leave comments. They know that by leaving comments on other peoples posts, they will get comments in return. That is why you as a blogger should always try to leave constructive comments on blogs that you happen to visit. This will not only give you a link back to your blog (a good SEO tactic) but may well invite a comment on your blog in return.

Knowing how important it is to get comments, one should try, where possible, to phrase the blog in such a manner that it simply invites people to say something in reply.

Dob In Your Neighbour?

Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-21-2007 under Opinion

~~~
Sorry, what does dob mean? It’s basically Aussie slang meaning “to inform on someone” and a dobber is a person who dobs. Ok so now that we’ve got that out of the way I’d like to tell you about our beloved Water Minister Michael Wright. Due to the current drought we’re having Mr. Wright set up a new policy starting January the first. From jan. 1st, no Aussie is SA is allowed to water their gardens (level 3 restrictions) from Monday to Friday. On Saturday even numbered houses can water their garden from 5am to 8 am and 8pm to 10pm. All odd numbered houses water their gardens during the same time period. So important are these restrictions that Mr. Wright asked everyone to dob in any neighbour that disobey these rules. This isn’t an unusual request as the Government have used such policies before, such as dob in a dole cheat or even dob in firebugs etc. It all backfired when Mr. Wright broke his own rule and was caught out by his neighbour David Smith, who dutifully dobbed him in to the Authorities.
Ah, there’s the rub, as dobbing in is considered un-Australian, or so some say. Premier Mike Rann says; “I would of thought that, if it happened to me, one of my neighbours…. comes over, taps on the door and says, ‘hey Mike…. I guess you fell asleep, you better turn it off or it might be embarrassing’”. Yeah right, that’s only because Mr. Wright is one of your ministers. I bet you’d sing a different tune if it was a Liberal Polly. Unfortunately poor David is copping all the flack because of his unAustralian.
Personally I feel these politicians should not be making the rules unless they’re willing to abide by them. As for it being un-Australian…..you tell me.
Belisi, The Name For Ties And Fashion
Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-19-2007 under Special Ops
~~~

Peter Belisi is a man who was not satisfied with his status in life. He new he could amount to more and he strove to achieve this even to the point where it put a financial strain on his life. It all started as he was bartending in Palm Springs where he was constantly surrounded by trendsetters who displayed the luxury life style that he craved.

He invested any money he made in a huge tie collection. He would never wear the same tie twice and it wasn’t long before he was being noticed and then co-workers and clients actually started to ask him for advice. It was then that an idea took shape. He now knew that accessories are the finishing touch to any well-heeled look—done the right way, you present a polished picture to the world.

The image conscious not only want to fit in among their peers by wearing high-end accessories, they want to give back to society. The Belisi Brand was founded to enhance luxury wardrobes, while making the world a little brighter for everyone. Belisi—a name already synonymous with beauty—has earned a loyal following for its high-end, quality ties, and most recently scarves and handbags. Belisi’s guiding principle is to create Luxury with Meaning. Every time you purchase a Belisi product, you put the finishing touch on a put-together look.

This is a man who hasn’t forgotten his roots and because of this also gives to the community, thereby fighting poverty, protecting the environment, seeking justice and funding medical research. Put simply, Belisi stands for good living: great style, quality accessories and giving back to the community.

A Warning About Auto Surfs!

Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-19-2007 under Opinion

There are many sites out there actively promoting auto surfs. The purpose of auto surfs is that your first register your site or blog and then once registered you actively surf other sites that are also registered. Usually you have to surf from 2-5 sites to earn a credit. Once your credit pile up people will then visit your site. This way you will boost the amount of visitors to your blog or website.

The one major thing wrong with this is that Google doesn’t like it. I was a member of a few until I got this email from Google.

Hello,It has come to our attention that invalid clicks or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s) through users of third-party programs paid or provided with other incentives to visit your site. Such programs may include, but are not limited to auto-surf, pay to surf pay-to-read, or pay-to-click sites.

As a reminder, any method of generating invalid clicks or impressions is strictly prohibited by our Terms & Conditions and program policies:

https://www.google.com/adsense/policies

If we continue to detect invalid clicks or impressions from these services on your ads, we may disable your account to protect our advertisers.

Sincerely,

The Google Adsens Team

Needless to say I no longer promote any of my blogs or web pages using Auto Surf’s. Google is too important to me and should be to you as well.

Trucks And Safety On The Road

Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-18-2007 under Special Ops

~~~
As a father of teen who has just obtained his drivers license, apart from a being proud of his achievement I am also extremely worried every time he goes out on his own. I realize he has past his test and has earned his license but even so he is still very inexperienced and there are so many variables on the road that he is unaware of and may not how to react when an emergency arises.
One thing that worries me is the amount of trucks in our area and how he will cope when he is on his own. These are some of the points I have explained to him.
1) Stay out of a truck’s blind spots or as he cannot see your presence and may cut you off.
2) Be careful when attempting to pass a truck. Make sure you have plenty of overtaking room
3) Do not swerve in front of a truck or cause the driver to come to a sudden stop always allowing for the extra stopping room a truck requires.
4) Avoid “Squeeze Play” when a large truck needs to make a wide turn.
5) Do not cut off a large truck or passenger bus.
Of course as a parent I know that most times your children are not really listening which is why I am grateful for GEICO who have added “Teens and Trucks” to its online library of safe driving materials for teen drivers. The brochure, developed with the American Moving and Storage Association, includes valuable information for teens on how to safely share the highway with large trucks.
The other thing that I have insisted on is automobile insurance and I made sure that this was in force before he was allowed to take the car on the road.
A Son’s Achievment!
Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-18-2007 under Funny Blogs
Ok, we have all been working pretty hard at this blogging for money stuff so I have decided to reward you with a joke to relax the mind with some hilarity.
It all started at the pub where four men were telling stories. One of them had to get up to go to the loo and while he was gone one of the men says;
“I used to be really worried about what would become of my son. I figured he would be such a loser because he was washing cars at a local dealership. Luckily they decided to make him a salesman and he sold so many cars that eventually he was able to buy that dealership. Actually he is so successful that he just gave his best friend a Mercedes sports car for his birthday.”
The second man says; “I used to worry about my son as well especially when all he could find as a job was raking leaves for the local realtor. Luckily for him he also got a break when they made him a commissioned real estate agent. He branched out on his own and is so successful that he just bought his best friend a new house for his birthday.”
The third man goes on to say; “Yeah, I figured my son would turn out to be a no hoper and would be sweeping floors in that damn brokerage firm for the rest of his life. Now his expertise in the stock market has made him so rich he gave his best friend millions of dollars of stock for his birthday”
When the fourth man came back they explained to him what they were discussing. He goes on to say; “Well I’m sorry to say my son has turned out to be a major disappointment. He started off as a hairdresser and has been one for the last 15 years. I actually found out he’s gay and has several boy friends. Still I try to look on the bright side of things. His boy friends have just bought him a new Mercedes, a new house and a million in stocks for his birthday.
Niche Blogging?
Posted by User ImageSire on Jan-18-2007 under Opinion
There are many out there that will tell you that to make money blogging you should really develop a niche blog. I disagree with that for one simple reason and that is that I believe you are limiting your audience. Say for example you were to blog about your love for cars; sure you may develop an audience of car lovers but what about everyone else. I truly believe niche bloggers are limiting their audience. Take my Well Blog Me! blog, it’s a general blog covering many subjects including affiliates, humour, riddles, sport, poems etc. I feel that I am reaching for a larger audience and I know that I am getting hits from Google and other search engines on my many topics. Perhaps what would be more beneficial would be to develop a style of writing. It may include witty comments or be more of a serious nature. It should always have good grammar and punctuation. I would steer away from things such as porn or blogs whose intention is merely to incite hatred, as these will not gain the approval of those companies who will pay you to blog. I would be interested in any comments you may have.
